A silly poverty-row farce about a gang of pickpockets that decides to run a bank.

Update: I removed most of the crackle from the audio.

Subject: Non-sensical Little Comedy
This film brings together a group of comedic character actors and throws in a top "B" leading lady Luana Walters, more at home on a western film set with any number of cowboy leading men and an old timer from westerns Lafe McKee in a farcical story written by Jack Natteford, also known more for writing westerns as well. Wallace Ford was still star enough to have his name above the title as the leading man. Frank Sully, a major character actor playing every kind of role, usually with a light touch in many of them is the nominal villain of the piece. This was made for the small-town and rural audiences of the day and is right on the mark. It's funny, silly maybe, but funny anyway. I liked it. Check it out. Great picture and sound too. Beware of one major flaw in the last few frames, however. Enjoy.

Subject: Cute and entertaining
The premise of theives running a bank may have been less believeable in 1942 than it is today. Give the present state of banking, one easily finds the characters in this play to be more honorable than modern bankers.

This movie was well paced and charmingly funny. Better than many found in the public domain.

Subject: Very entertaining
Seven pick-pocket types get together to do a "job" and end up doing something else entirely.

Yay: Quick-moving, somewhat original story with likable characters.

Boo: Terrible hissing white noise over the sound.
